Meet Brother Vincent Ignatius, OSB
Brother Vincent Ignatius, OSB is Organist and Director of Music at Trinity Episcopal Church and Superior of the Community of St. Joseph, a Benedictine Religious Community in The Episcopal Church. As part of his position at Trinity Church he not only plays for services and directs the choir of Men and Women, but also organizes an Advent concert series where local and regional professional artists and advanced students are presented in recital. Brother Vincent also oversees several other ministries. He coordinates Pastoral Care in the parish, including Lay Eucharistic Visitors, Funeral Visitations, Pastoral Visits and the Caring Committee. Brother Vincent also facilitates Altar Ministries, to include Readers, Lay Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers and Acolytes.
In addition to his work at the church, Br. Vincent also teaches private piano and organ in his studio, offering intense study to gifted adolescents and adults. His former positions include St. James Episcopal Church, Fairhope, AL, St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Mobile, and The Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, Mobile, AL. He has been heard in recital in Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, Missouri, North Carolina, and New York, and has served as staff organist for several Summer Training Courses sponsored by the Royal School of Church Music in America. A member of the Association of Anglican Musicians, he has also most recently served as Training Courses Chair on the Board of Directors for RSCM America, and currently serves on the organizing committee of the St. Louis RSCM Summer Training Course which he helped found in 1998.
