Lay Eucharistic Ministers assist at the altar in distributing the consecrated wine to communicants. Lay Eucharistic Ministers mal also serve as Acolytes.
Lectors read select readings at services.
Acolytes serve in various assisting capacities in liturgical services, especially at the altar and in processions and recessions in the service.
Ushers perform various duties at services, such as escorting congregants to their seats, assisting congregants in going to and coming from Communion, taking up the collection, and bringing forth the offerings to the altar.
Greeters meet and welcome people to church--especially visitors--and often hand out the service leaflets.
Training is required to perform these ministries. Some ministries may also require licensure through the Diocese.
